For my final ever project i will be creating a fine jewellery collection :)
The collection will be based upon structures , textures and tones found in Welsh salt marshes, particularly those in West wales where i am from.
The collection will be names the 'SALT MARSH COLLECTION' 'HALON GORS' which is the welsh translation .
I will take inspiration from the wild marsh flowers in this region and other plant life as well as taking into there habitats for use of texture and color.
My chosen target market will be mainly tourists , who swarm down to these coastal towns throughout the UK during the summer, i find that tourists/ holidaymakers like to take away souvenirs of there time away back with them, i think this would be a good niche to get involved in.
Another target market could possibly be woman 30+ with a disposable income, and people who just enjoy collection and admiring bespoke pieces and have a keen interest in Art and sculpture as my pieces will be abstract and unusual
Richard Maybeys foraging book has helped me a great deal with ideas and designs for my pieces. As i haven't had plants/flowers to draw from as its the wrong season, it has given a helpful description of every last detail..My conceptual drawings take inspiration from both photos and Richard Maybeys foraging book of various plant life in the Salt marshes. Here ive began to look more into texture and pattern and have started to create a few of the 10-15 components i will need to create to make my collection. I'm hoping to design components that can be used in all my pieces ( various sizes) 3 of them i hope to design so i can have stones set in to them. My final collection will consist of a Multi functional hair pin, a statement cluster ring, cluster droplet earrings, and a pendant for a necklace.

Theme / Style
What will inspire your project?
Organic, natural theme.
I will take inspiration from the coast in West Wales, mostly the salt marshes and there plant life and scenery.
I will look at foraged plants and flowers native to the British isles and will use there forms and textures to influence my work.
I will include rose cut and faceted stones to add colour and luxury to the pieces, there colours will take influence from the style (Salt marsh’s) earthly tones.
What materials do you propose to use?
I propose to print my designs in wax on the solidscape and have them cast in Silver.
I will use precious stones and set these within the piece. ( Rose cut, faceted stones )
I will plate the pieces in gold.
